Live Rite Properties provides safe and structured transitional homes where recovery is top priority while helping individuals adjust. Residents are held accountable with things such as nightly curfew, weekly journals and goal setting, and random drug/alcohol screening. Live Rite has a resource center that provides many recovery related activities and meetings, as well as a positive introduction into 12-step recovery residence programs.

Our homes have comfortable and welcoming atmospheres in which our residents are able to develop friendships and a sense of community in each other. Our staff provide individualized case management and counseling to help support people becoming healthy, productive, and independent members of society. As the sole Michigan NARR Affiliate, MARR certifies provider compliance with the NARR standards and code of ethics. Recovery – oriented housing founded on Social Model principles continues to be studied academically due to its proven effectiveness in promoting and sustaining long-term recovery. MARR-certified recovery residences adhere to a strict policy of being “good neighbors in good neighborhoods.” Residents actively work to enhance the local community, complete community service projects, and maintain a quiet, well-kept place. All MARR-certified recovery residences are required to post the contact information of the MARR Grievance Facilitator to address any grievances a resident may have.

EQUIPPING RECOVERY LEADERS TO CHANGE LIVES

QBH offers a stable place to live and develop friendships with peers in recovery while people are looking for employment, volunteering, or attending school. Personalized Nursing LIGHT House, a Michigan based 501 (c) 3 behavioral healthcare corporation founded in 1990, provides a continuum of treatment services for persons with substance use disorders. PNLH has been providing recovery housing, in various cities, for over 32 years. This program is available to men who have successfully completed a residential treatment program. It is designed for individuals who are ready for employment or do not have significant barriers hindering their ability to work.

The Standard

At the house meeting, weekly activities are reviewed, concerns are discussed, goals are set, chores are assigned, etc. Typically, the average stay at a recovery residence in Maine is above 6 months, depending on the resident’s progress. Law enforcement officials have a low incidence of problems with recovery residences and have actively supported their operations in many municipalities, including Portland. The MARR certification process requires the operator of a recovery residence to first apply for membership to MARR. Then the residence is inspected by experienced members of our Membership and Compliance Committee to ascertain if the operator conforms to the current certification requirements of the national organization (NARR). The operator must also produce other documents related to city inspections and lease requirements.
